Centre for Learning, Culture and Society (CLKS)

Society is constantly changing and being challenged, and with this development, the school’s function of educating future citizens is constantly changing too. These changes concern, for example, new media platforms, digital tools, globalisation, health, and sustainable development. Research within the Centre for Learning, Culture, and Society (CLKS) spans a large field, from questions regarding how learning, language, and power both preserve and change society to knowledge regarding methods of teaching. Many areas of the research address aspects of digitisation. In order to contribute to high-quality value-creating research, attention is drawn to the Global Sustainable Development Goals of Agenda 2030 with its focus on sustainability, equality, and justice.

About CLKS

The Centre for Learning, Culture, and Society’s (CLKS) profile is towards learning, digitalisation and social change.

The multidisciplinary nature of the research environment provides the conditions for interdisciplinary research. It is organised in five thematic approaches to provide conditions and possibilities for disciplinary excellence. The specialisations have specific research focuses that in various ways meet societal challenges while deepening the profile of the environment.

Thematic approaches within CLKS

Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions External link.

Applicants and information

Applicants may not have resided, worked, or studied in Sweden for more than 12 months in the 3 years prior to the call deadline (September 15, 2021). You will find more about the scheme, eligibility and application at the website of the European Commission.

Develop a joint project proposal

The selected candidate(s) will together with a researcher and mentor from the School of Education, Humanities and Social Sciences at Halmstad University develop a joint project proposal with the School of Education, Humanities and Social Sciences as the host organisation.

We are looking for a topic that falls broadly within the field of public administration and local and regional governance. A policy focus on education would be an advantage but is not necessary. The candidate will work with Dr. Petra Svensson, Dr. Sara Svensson and/or Dr. Anders Urbas in preparing the application. In addition to the applicant’s merits we will prioritize according to closeness of fit with the mentoring team.

Contact and last date

If you are interested in developing such a proposal with us, email your CV and a one-page outline of your research idea as early as possible and latest by May 10, 2021.

Questions and applications should be sent to the School’s Research Leader Claes Malmberg, claes.malmberg@hh.se

* that at the date of the call deadline 15 September 2021 candidates are in possession of a doctoral degree or has successfully defended a doctoral thesis
