Environmental Monitoring
The course deals with various analytical methods for measuring the presence of pollutants and health-damaging factors linked to different abiotic and biotic conditions. Results from environmental monitoring programs will be discussed. Basic ecotoxicological concepts, dose-response conditions and methods for measuring negative effects of environmentally harmful substances, e.g. biomarkers, bioindicators and biomonitoring are addressed. Knowledge of contaminated soil and soil remediation is also included. Laboratory work and statistical data processing as well as visualization of results are also included.
