Embedded and Intelligent Systems Industrial Graduate School (EISIGS)
A graduate school with high industrial relevance focusing on cooperating embedded systems for intelligent applications, with a special touch of innovation aspects.
The goal of the industrial graduate school, named Embedded and Intelligent Systems Industrial Graduate School (EISIGS), is to provide the right environment for producing qualified, independent researchers (PhDs) that understand, advance, and champion embedded and intelligent systems research. EISIGS is funded by the Knowledge Foundation complemented by funding from industrial partners as well as from Halmstad University.
The objectives for the industrial graduate school are:
- To strengthen Swedish industry by training doctoral-level researchers that have technical depth and a broad understanding of industrial requirements, the innovation process and which innovations that can lead to business opportunities.
- To accelerate the development of the EIS research environment at Halmstad University, and utilizing the synergy effects of collaboration with the researchers in innovation sciences, develop an industrially relevant education and research infrastructure as well as achieve innovatory research results in the area of embedded and intelligent systems.
- To strengthen the bonds between academia and industry by aiming for efficient and focused cooperation on training of new, highly qualified professionals.
The research education at Halmstad University is organised within three areas:
- Health and Lifestyle
- Innovation Sciences
- Information Technology
- Computer science and engineering
- Signals and systems engineering
- Informatics
- Computer science and engineering
